Artist-group Artluminis.dk Denmark with Ina Wittbold and Mette Hansgaard
Invitation to the Special Exhibition and Events
It is our great pleasure to invite you to the opening reception of the art exhibition “The Journey of Light” by the artist collective Artluminis, founded by Ina Wittbold and Mette Hansgaard, created in collaboration with the research team from the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Aarhus University, led by Professor Hans Kjeldsen.
The opening reception in Hillerød 2027 will take place on Thursday, 10 April 2027, from 14:00–16:00 p.m. at Kunsthuset Annaborg in Hillerød, in collaboration with the Hillerød Art Association.
Opening hours during the exhibition coming one month before.
The exhibition is a tribute to Ole Rømer’s groundbreaking discovery of the speed of light and an exploration of how this scientific achievement continues to inspire contemporary research and future discoveries. Through paintings, watercolours, and sculptures, the exhibition presents an artistic universe inspired by the light of the cosmos and by the seismic-like oscillations measured when astronomers search for exoplanets and signs of life beyond our Solar System. The artworks explore the dynamic relationship between art and science, inviting visitors to experience the beauty of both disciplines.

Join artists Mette Hansgaard and Ina Wittbold for an Artist Talk where they will introduce the exhibition and share the inspiration, ideas, and creative processes behind their works.
About Us
Major Art Exhibition at Kunsthuset Annaborg with Artluminis. Mark your calendar now.
From 10 April, when we hold the opening reception, until 22 May 2027, you can experience a major art exhibition at Kunsthuset Annaborg together with the art group Artluminis.
The exhibition brings together art, astronomy, stars, light and stories about the universe in a sensory and inspiring experience. Here, you can explore works centred on asteroseismology, stars, exoplanets, Jupiter, Ole Rømer and the journey of light – and how light affects life on Earth.
In connection with the exhibition, we invite you to a special event:
Event, Lecture and Artist Talk with Ina Wittbold, Mette Hansgaard and Associate Professor Karsten Brogaard
Saturday, 24 April 2027, 12:00-16:00
Kunsthuset Annaborg and the cinema hall in Hillerød
Here, you can attend a lecture on astronomy, learn more about the universe and meet the artists behind the exhibition.
Among other things, you can hear more from Karsten Brogaard from Aarhus University, Department of Physics and Astronomy, who will talk about the FUT project – an educational telescope that brings astronomy and learning closer together.
There will also be an opportunity to attend an Artist Talk, where you can hear about the ideas behind the artworks, the creative process and the connection between art and science.
The exhibition is based on the phenomena of the universe and the stories that emerge when art and astronomy meet. How can we understand stars through light? How does the journey of light affect life on Earth? And how can art give us new ways of experiencing astronomy, exoplanets and the night sky?
With this exhibition, Mette Hansgaard and Ina Wittbold wish to create a major visual experience where curiosity, contemplation and fascination with the universe all have room to unfold.
